Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD)

JUNIOR OLYMPIC ARCHERY DEVELOPMENT

Thursday Nights from 6pm - 8pm

Let us introduce you to our Junior Olympic Archery Development Program - We call it "JOAD". JOAD is a nationwide program where certified coaches provide instruction for youth archers to help them progress in the sport at their own pace.

You'll learn important skills, play exciting games and earn awards for developing fundamental skills and scoring achievements. JOAD clubs offer training and event preparation for all archery disciplines and many clubs have rental equipment available, so that you can try archery first before investing in equipment.

In JOAD, your child participates in a sport, develops strong problem solving skills, increases their focus and determination, learns goal setting, builds confidence and creates friendships that will last a lifetime. Whether your child's interest is purely recreational or an Olympic, Paralympic or World Championship dream, USA Archery's Youth programs are tailored to help the young archer achieve their goals.

JOAD offers barebow, recurve and compound archers the opportunity to learn range safety and proper shooting technique in an environment that also fosters focus, increased self-confidence, and team building skills. JOAD is open to any youth archer aged 8 to 20 and is designed to grow with the youth archer. Introductory JOAD classes teach the fundamentals of proper shooting form; as the young archer develops, they will learn more advanced techniques and earn achievement awards.

TRACK YOUR PROGRESS

SET GOALS AND MEASURE PROGRESS TO ACHIEVE YOUR PERSONAL BEST

Through our system of rewarding excellence, archers have the opportunity to earn awards for their scores, which become progressively more challenging as the archer’s skill level increases. This program helps archers set goals and measure progress to achieve their personal best.

JOAD STAR PINS

JOAD Achievement Award Star Pins are awarded for scoring achievements. Archers can earn JOAD Achievement Award Stars Pins for shooting indoors and/or outdoors with barebow, basic compound, fixed pins, recurve and/or compound bows. A current USA Archery Youth, Adult, or Family membership is required to participate in the Achievement Awards Program, as outlined in the Club Membership Form.

In addition to Star Pins, JOAD archers can earn the official "6-Gold" pin when they shoot six 10's in a row - either in a single 6 arrow end, or in two consecutive 3-arrow ends.
